The premise of the movie revolves around Charlie's soon-to-be mother-in-law, Viola, who recently got axed as a network anchor in favor of a younger woman. Then she meets her only son Kevin and his girlfriend Charlie and is not so thrilled to learn that she is going to be replaced by another woman in her son's life too.

So she concocts a plan to become the worst mother-in-law in history, Charlie would have to call the wedding off.

This movie marks Jane Fonda's return to the big screen after a 14-year absence. And return she did. She is still beautiful and fit, she virtually outshone Jennifer Lopez. Wanda Sykes also made a notable performance. The duo of Sykes and Fonda was hilarious. Vartan was blah. And what would you expect in a Jennifer Lopez vehicle but nice, prettied-up shots of her. Acting-wise, nothing new from Mrs. Marc Anthony.

Again, this is not a thinking person's movie but this is highly enjoyable if only for the Fonda-Sykes tandem. Do I hear Monster-In-Law Part II?
