The Blue Eagle Gym

Some of my non-Ateneo friends think that I actually had classes at the "building with the eagle on the side," referring to the Blue Eagle Gym.

The Loyola Center (its official name) was built in 1949 when Katipunan was just a vast "cogon" field to add another venue for the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) games. Although the gym is 56 years old, UAAP games, team practices and PE classes are still held here despite the addition of the Moro Lorenzo Sports Center way yonder near the High School campus and remains a major landmark in Katipunan.
