LIttle Wolf

My friend Emilie's younger brother Nix and his wife Maita have a brand new baby boy and he's so cute! I hope it's ok with them if I published this photo :)

Just think, Nix is younger than I am and he is already a daddy. I remember one time when Ems and I accompanied Nix to a table tennis tournament when he was still in the seventh grade! By the way, Ems and Nix are mean table tennis players so you better steer clear of the table when you're with them unless you'd want to lose your pants he he...

Hit the Beach!

My friend Emilie sent me an MMS today. It's her daughter Kate trying on goggles. Kate probably wanted to tell her mom that she wanted to hit the beach. I mean, it's summer Mommy! He he...

Discovery Country Suites

Cheryl invited me to a "picnic" at Discovery Country Suites in Tagaytay. It's actually an inn. There are just 7 or so rooms so it's pretty cozy and has a nice view of the Taal Ridge. A nice nice white house actually partially blocks the view of Taal volcano...

It's a perfect setting for a garden wedding or a wedding reception for 50 guests... Hmmm... The Colombian-born chef was quite cute and cooks heavenly. Sigh...

Ok, back to reality folks he he. Since it was a picnic, they handed us picnic hats which was quite of a novelty for me because I don't normally wear hats (baseball, fireman, policeman, etc).

Eating at the garden was a nice experience. I would have wanted to sprawl on the picnic blankets but you can't sprawl elegantly so the blanket was out. We just sat at the tables and tried to shoo the flies away. One thing about dining al fresco in the Philippines is you have to fight off bugs from your food. Plus, the hotel was right next to a pineapple plantation and it is summer after all. After a few minutes, I got used to the flies and tried not to stop them from getting a piece of my lunch.

Of course since we were in Tagaytay, we wanted to take pictures of Taal, but sadly, the nice white house successfully hid it from view. So we took pictures of ourselves! He he..

Chilly London

If we are all bitching about how HOT this summer has been (and it's only April!), my friend Emilie went to London and saw how chilly it was in that part of the world at this time.

She sent me MMS today and see that she is still smiling despite the cold. Can you hear her teeth chattering? He he... I hoped she met some nice men over there. I mean, once can hope, right? :)

Happy Birthday Cheryl!

It was Cheryl's birthday last April Fools' but we got together just this morning. She was raving about the Fitness First gym at Ortigas and proudly showed off her newly upgraded arms. Of course, to round off her diet, she ordered a HUGE strawberry ice cream thingie when we were at Iceberg's Metrowalk.

As you can see she can't even spare a glance at the camera, so totally engrossed was she in the thingie.. he he :)

Added -- Tag Board

I've just added a Tag Board for you... yes, you. Please feel free to post anything good and nutricious.

Pope John Paul II

The Vatican has announced his passing on April 2, 2005, at 9:37pm in his private apartments.

I saw him when he came to the Philippines in 1981 as a young 41 year old Pope, the first Polish pope and the first non-Italian pope after 450 years.

I was a young schoolgirl when he first came to the Philippines. He was blonde and blue-eyed, he stood out from the crowd of dark-haired Filipinos. He was a charismatic figure and was a symbol for peace, even for non-Catholics. In those days, terrorist threats were unheard of. He was riding in an open bus, waving to us schoolkids who were lined up on the streets of the Basilica del Santo Nino in Cebu City. I can still remember shouting, "Viva il Papa!" and Mabuhay ("Long live").

Looking back, I was sorry that I was not able to go to the World Youth Day 1995 where he also visited the youth delegates from all over the world. Mundane things like working for a living could not have compared with seeing him again.

He shall be deeply missed.

It's Cheryl's Birthday -- Happy April Fools'

Heyyy... I want to holler to one of my bestest friends... Happy birthday! Hmmm.. We're meeting tomorrow at Ortigas Center. Wonder what I'll give her though. I'm always stumped for gift ideas.

Aha! Mebbe give her a guy :D

This pic was taken last year during my birthday when we porked out at Cabalen hehehe..

It's also Aileen's birthday! But I don't have a pic of her on file. However, we had a very early birthday get-together 2 weeks ago at Bizu courtesy of Ems. :D
