Funny

The feast of St. Ignatius brings back a lot of memories.

It just made me realize how funny life is... You see, when I was in college, I COULDN'T wait to get out. But when I was down from the hill, I wanted to go back so desperately.

I missed seeing my favorite teachers, like Fr. Dacanay, ("harrrummphh")

luxuriating in the serenity of the waiting shed at nightfall

or just hanging out with friends :)

Those were the days, my friend.

Note: Much thanks (again!) to Aaron Vicencio for the pics.

Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends

I grew up on Sesame Street and The Electric Company, as well as the Funky Phantom he he.. I spend many a Saturday morning glued to the TV and managed to learn English that way :))

I still love cartoons. I think that adults who say cartoons are so juvenile are sad adults with no imagination or curiousity left in their bones.

I love this series on the Cartoon Network called Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends. It was created by Crag McCracken (creator of The Powerpuff Girls).

The premise revolves on an 8-year-old boy Mac and his imaginary friend Bloo.

His mother thinks that he is too old to have an imaginary friend and has to give Bloo up. So Mac brings him to Foster's. There, Bloo or Blooregard Q. Kazoo (voice: Keith Ferguson who does voiceovers for games)

meets other imaginary friends like himself, the violet monster Eduardo (voice: Tom Kenny who does Spongebob Squarepants) who's scared of anything that moves,

Mr. Herriman the rabbit (voice: Tom Kane who did the voice for Yoda in the Revenge of the Sith),

Wilt who is the most optimistic of all friends despite things he's been through and

Coco (voice: Candi Milo, Dexter's Lab) who only mutters "coco" in different tones. My personal favorites are Bloo (of course!) and Eduardo.

Now, Mac has to visit Bloo everyday at Foster's otherwise Bloo might get adopted when he fails to show.

The show is funny, it doesn't use derogatory words like pipsqueak etc. And even has philosophical undertones when you think about it. Basta you have to watch it to believe.

The Blue Eagle Gym

Some of my non-Ateneo friends think that I actually had classes at the "building with the eagle on the side," referring to the Blue Eagle Gym.

The Loyola Center (its official name) was built in 1949 when Katipunan was just a vast "cogon" field to add another venue for the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) games. Although the gym is 56 years old, UAAP games, team practices and PE classes are still held here despite the addition of the Moro Lorenzo Sports Center way yonder near the High School campus and remains a major landmark in Katipunan.

Prayer for Generosity

I have added prayer into my life now. I'm not saying I'm all good and holy -- goodness knows I have had my share of schizophrenic moods. Let's just say I am more comfortable with my world, that I am content with toiling, giving and fighting without counting the cost but knowing that somewhere, the Supreme Being is happy that I am doing what I came here to do. And perhaps He is preparing to reward me with the most creamy, chocolatey, non-fattening double dutch bed for eternity he he. I may be more introspective now, but I'm not boring!

Prayer for Generosity
St. Ignatius of Loyola

Dearest Lord,
teach me to be generous:
teach me to serve you as you deserve:
to give, and not to count the cost,
to fight, and not to heed the wounds,
to toil, and not to seek for rest,
to labor, and not to ask for reward,
except that of knowing
that I do your holy will.
Amen.

St. Ignatius of Loyola

You probably know by now that I hold St. Ignatius close to my heart. He was born Iñigo Lopez de Loyola in Basque country (Northern Spain) on 1491. He was brash, passionate, tactical (he was after all a soldier and is now patron of soldiers), restless, romantic in a Medieval sort of way . He wasn't immune to worldly pleasures (women, gambling, spirits), after all he was a Castilian courtier and a Basque for that matter. Kind of like me, except you have to take out the women, gambling and spirits.

He was hurt protecting Pamplona from French invaders and was sent by his French enemies back to his castle in Loyola to recuperate rather than take him in as prisoner because of his valour in battle.

His recuperation also signalled the onset of his conversion and the
Spiritual Exercises was born.

Many prayers and hymns have been lifted off his Spiritual Exercises, one of which is "Take and Receive," ("Sume et Suscipe") which many Pinoys sing to during Mass.

Take, Lord, and receive all my liberty,
my memory, my understanding, and my entire will.
All I have and call my own.
Whatever I have or hold, you have given to me.
I restore it all to you and surrender it wholly
to be governed under your will.
Give me only your love and grace
and I am rich enough and ask for nothing more.

ANIMA CHRISTI

When I was in Cebu doing technical training for a client, I attended Mass at the Sacred Heart Parish in D. Jakosalem. One of the hymns sung during the Communion Rites was ANIMA CHRISTI (Latin for "SOUL OF CHRIST").

I remembered this because in 6 days shall be be the feast of St. Ignatius of Loyola, founder of the Society of Jesus. And ANIMA CHRISTI was the favorite prayer of St. Ignatius. He so loved this prayer that he put it in the beginning of his famous "Spiritual Exercises" leading people to believe that he wrote it.

The text goes like this (Latin in blue, English in red):

Anima Christi, sanctifica me. Soul of Christ, sanctify me.
Corpus Christi, salva me. Body of Christ, save me.
Sanguis Christi, inebria me. Blood of Christ, inebriate me.
Aqua lateris Christi, lava me. Water from the side of Christ, wash me.
Passio Christi, conforta me. Passion of Christ, strengthen me.
O bone Iesu, exaudi me. O good Jesus, hear me.
Intra tua vulnera absconde me. Within Thy wounds, hide me.
Ne permittas me separari a te. Separated from Thee let me never be.
Ab hoste maligno defende me. From the malignant enemy, defend me.
In hora mortis meae voca me. At the hour of death, call me.
Et iube me venire ad te, To come to Thee, bid me,
Ut cum Sanctis tuis laudem te That I may praise Thee in the company
in saecula saeculorum. Amen. Of Thy Saints, for all eternity. Amen.

Un-Firefox Friendly

Get Firefox!
I have been using Firefox for a year now and I found that it is way better than the old IE. It's virtually pop-up free and loads faster vs IE (even if you're on dial-up).

So it just pisses me when I go visit a website and it does not support Firefox. I visited the JobsDB website and the following message was displayed:

We apologize that "MyJobsDB member section" only supports Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.0 or above on Windows 95/98/ME/2000/XP at this moment because of incompatible behavior on other browsers and operating systems especially in supporting XML. We will continue to enhance our system in order to support other browsers and operating systems in the near future.
So, which era does the website's developer live in? Dude, wake up and smell the roses.

If you're like me, who's fed up with IE, download Firefox now and literally re-discover the web.

The Best Looking Guy In The World

Whoaa... I got my Christmas present in July!!! Weee... This guy is Indian and won the title "Best Looking Guy in the World."

The Name

When I say where I went to college, people would ask me what does your school's name mean?

The word ATENEO is a Spanish derivation of the word Atheneum, the first school in Rome established during Emperor Hadrian's time (abt. 135 A.D.). Atheneum drew inspiration from the Greek temple dedicated to the goddess Athena, the goddess of wisdom, where men (no women were permitted, then) may discuss anything and everything under the sun.

British Application
During the Renaissance, the Atheneum's popularity gained momentum as a place of learning. English admirers of the Atheneum brought the idea to their shores and created the Athenaeum in 1823. The club remains a premier men's club to this day. It's like a hoity toity club for the intellectually-gifted. This concept was eventually adapted by other countries.

Note: In 2002, members voted to admit women (finally!).

Philippine Story

The coming of the Spanish conquistadores onto our shores brought the Jesuits and their own system of education, shaped by St. Ignatius of Loyola's Spritual Exercises. In 1590, the order formally opened Colegio de Manila (aka Colegio Seminario de San Ignacio) in Intramuros. It became both a papal and royal university (by virtue of the confirmation from both Pope Gregory XV and King Philip IV of Spain) in 1621 and 1623, respectively.

Jesuit Suppression
When the Jesuits were expelled from the Spanish realm in 1768, due to political maneuverings not unlike what we experience now, they relinquished the college to civil authorities bringing on the school's ultimate demise.

Return to Philippine Shores
In 1859, they came back to the country and established missions mainly in far-off Mindanao. The Ayuntamiento or city council subsequently requested Governor-General Norzagaray (1857-1860) to fund a primary school run by Jesuits. Thus, the Escuela Municipal was born. When it offered secondary education leading to a bachillerato, its status was elevated and was renamed Ateneo Municipal de Manila. (photo at left: from the University of Vienna website based on a booklet by Austin Craig published in 1909 by the Philippine Education Publishing Co.)

American Jesuits
During the American colonial rule in the 1900s, the Ateneo lost its government subsidy and became a private school, dropping the word Municipal from its official name. Interestingly, the Ateneo de Manila celebrates its 145th anniversary (and return of the Jesuits) to the Philippines.

Pomodoro Sauce

I like tomatoes. Because of my Cebuano roots, I loved it when my mum would mix "tamatis" (Cebuano word or "kamatis" in Tagalog) with Asian (red) onion and gingeroot in vinegar to serve as dip. The more sour the better. I think the "tamatis" (Cebuano) and ultimately "kamatis" for that matter, is a corruption of the Spanish word "tomates". "Pomodoro", on the other hand, is Italian.

Which is why when I tasted the fish fillet with pomodoro sauce in Power Plant I felt like I was in paradise. I could feel the texture of the tomato skins and the soursweet taste of the pulp. And the snapper fillet was to die for. He he... Now I'm hungry all of the sudden.

I like my tomato sauce sour with just a hint of (natural) sweetness. Which is why I don't like the way most Pinoys cook spaghetti: sweet with just a hint of sour. But that is another story :D

Korean Dramas

I was bloghopping just now (too TAMAD to write on my blog) and I came across Perry V.'s blog. He has loads of MP3s and galleries dedicated to Korean stars. He also has a Kyoko Fukada gallery (the Japanese actress in The Ring 2).

Syempre hinanap ko if he has a Song Hye Kyo gallery ("Jenny" of Endless Love and "Jessie" of Full House). The photo I like is the one where she doesn't seem to have make up on and wearing a tank top. Ang ganda pa rin nya!

There was a Chae Rim ("Nicole" in All About Eve) photo that I really liked. And I am posting it here.

He even has a Coke Girls gallery. Coke ko 'to!

As for male Korean actors, he has galleries for Kwon Sang Woo ("Cholo" in Stairway to Heaven), Jang Dong Gun ("Kenneth" in All About Eve), Baek Sung Hyun (played the young Cholo in Stairway to Heaven)...

Tomatoes

This was emailed by Ems.

----
A True Story

A jobless man applied for the position of "office boy" at Microsoft. The HR manager interviewed him then watched him cleaning the floor as a test.

"You are employed" he said. "Give me your e-mail address and I'll send you the application to fill in, as well as the date when you may start.

The man replied "But I don't have a computer, neither an email".

"I'm sorry", said the HR manager. If you don't have an email, that means you do not exist. And who doesn't exist, cannot have the job."

The man left with no hope at all. He didn't know what to do, with only $10 in his pocket. He then decided to go to the supermarket and buy a 10Kg tomato crate. He then sold the tomatoes in a door to door round.

In less than two hours, he succeeded to double his capital. He repeated the operation three times, and returned home with $60.

The man realized that he can survive by this way, and started to go everyday earlier, and return late. Thus, his money doubled or tripled every day. Shortly, he bought a cart, then a truck, and then he had his own fleet of delivery vehicles.

5 years later, the man is one of the biggest food retailers in the US. He started to plan his family's future, and decided to have a life insurance. He called an insurance broker, and chose a protection plan.

When the conversation was concluded the broker asked him his email.

The man replied, "I don't have an email."

The broker answered curiously, "You don't have an email, and yet have succeeded to build an empire. Can you imagine what you could have been if you had an e mail?!!"

The man thought for a while and replied, "Yes, I'd be an office boy at Microsoft!"

Moral of the story

M1 - Internet is not the solution to your life.
M2 - If you don't have internet, and work hard, you can be a millionaire.
M3- If you received this message by email, you are closer to being an
office boy/girl, than a millionaire...

Cash Coupon

This was forwarded to me today. This cash coupon was supposedly found by a Makati-based employee after the "Gloria Resign" rallyists up and went.

Notice the seal of the City of Makati proudly emblazoned on the coupon. Who is G. Nick Santiago? After searching in Google, apparently he is Makati City Administrator Nick Santiago. Or you better ask Mercy who has her cellphone number of the coupon.

So who is funding those rallyists? The City of Makati? Kanino galing ang funds ng Makati? Kay G. Nick Santago? Kay Binay? Ganyan sila kayaman? I don't think Ms. Susan Roces knew of this. She, who stands for righteousness and all that's good and holy in these times of immorality. *smirk* And I am looking forward to hearing Escudero's reply to this allegation.

Or, the Makati taxpayers? You mean we actually funded the traffic, garbage and economic slide ourselves? *this is where I rant incoherently...*

I asked fellow Makati employees and as well as homeowners (i.e. Makati taxpayers) how they felt. And they all basically were outraged, if this were true.

Do I hear a Congressional/Senate inquiry over this? Kaban din naman ang bayan ng Makati ito hindi ba?

Or maybe the pro-administration people did this! After all, it is so easy to get a seal of Makati, print it nicely on newsprint(!), throw in a bunch of people's names for good measure and voila! You have made an issue made for primetime news...

"I Did Not Vote For This Constitution But I Swore To Defend It"

Ems forwarded this message to me and this pretty much sums up how I feel about the gloriagate issue right now.

Senator Gordon just said it better...

----

photo: Philippine Senate website

(TRANSCRIPT OF SENATOR RICHARD J. GORDON'S INTERVIEW WITH SENATE
REPORTERS ON MOUNTING CALLS FOR GMA RESIGNATION, 2:00 PM, 8 JULY 2005,
SENATE BLDG.)

Q.Sir at the time when political parties who are allied with the
administration are saying that they do not support the President
anymore and some members of the Cabinet have resigned and are saying
the same, what is your political assessment?

GORDON: People should ask themselves and look at the seriousness of
these people who are doing this because there is a Constitution that
they voted and campaigned for. I did not vote for this Constitution
but I swore to defend it. And the Constitution says, the President can
resign, indeed, but she cannot be forcibly asked to resign. Second, if
she resigns fine. We will support Vice President Noli de Castro and
the process continues. If she does not resign then they must have an
impeachment process and whether it's fraud or not, that is what you
have otherwise you are going to have two presidents claiming that they
were removed illegally. Meaning Joseph Estrada saying "I won by my 30
percent as most popularly elected and was not impeached. I did not
resign, I was forced to resign". You are now going to have another one
like this.

When I look at the parties, I have to question their motivation. The
Liberal Party was around GMA two weeks ago. They were also showing
allegiance to her. Now they are saying no. So to my mind, kailangang
bantayan yan.

If you look at the process, I will not be able to sleep well if Noli
de Castro is put there in office principally if it was done through
force. Why? In the last two events that we have had, in EDSA 1 which
was well motivated, there was a clear violation of the Constitution.
The canvassers walked out. The church, military, Cory and the people
were the common denominators. In the second EDSA, the church, Cory
and the military again were there and again there was a clear
violation. There was a very close person, identified with the former
president who explained that he got money. Here now, there were tapped
telephone conversations. We said, inadmissible in law, nonetheless
she owed up to the fact that she called the COMELEC. Gloriously
inappropriate, guilty of impropriety but the Jury is not out on
whether she committed a crime and she can only be tried and removed by
way of impeachment. That is the process. If we do not remove her that
way then we are unstable. We are not predictable and people will not
like us. So, it does not matter to me who is the president. The
important part to me is that he or she is legally in office. That is
to me what matters and that the rule of law is clear to the whole
world.

The opposition will say the system is fraud. They will say "how can
you expect these congressmen and senators to move because they are the
majority". But that is the system that we chose, that they voted for,
that they campaigned for. The majority are the same people that were
elected by the people. So who else are you going to trust if the
opposition keep questioning it every time it doesn't suite them?

Q. Even former President Cory Aquino is now asking for resignation?

GORDON: That is my point. If Cory is asking for resignation, what was
she doing telling everybody to follow the constitutional process in a
Constitution that was drafted by a Commission that she had called for?
What is she doing talking to Susan Roces saying "relax lang, mayroon
tayong Constitution" and now she is going to turn her back against
that Constitution? When that happens, will Noli be able to sleep at
night knowing the he can be intimidated by political forces around
this country who dictate who is going to be president not by legal
processes but by political processes? That is dangerous.

Right now we are hearing a lot of political noise. It is called
"continues-un-channeled-partisan-political-hysteria". We must learn to
sift from that noise. Look at the intention of everyone. All of the
sudden, you see former presidential candidates coming out. You can see
former presidents coming out even suggesting that the Constitution be
changed so that in 2006 we can all be parliamentarians as all people
can be a prime minister. You have to look at this. The people of this
country must learn to analyze. In this particular instance...we are
the people in a labor case. We are the employer and our employee was
caught stealing. "Ang sabi natin oh nagnakaw ka pero ang sabi niya
hindi ako nagnakaw. Tinanggal ko siya ngayon at pagkatanggal niya ang
sinabi niya ay unfair labor practice dahil hindi mo tinapos ang
proseso. Dapat pumunta tayo doon sa labor arbiter para malaman natin
kung ano ang tunay. Kailangang tapusin natin para sa ganoon kapag
natapos natin ang proseso alam natin nakasara ang libro hindi iyung
nakabitin tayo tulad ngayon". Si Erap noong una ang sabi niya "Ayaw ko
nang mag-presidente". Tapos nang lumabas ang survey na naman ang sabi
niya "Uy magpi-presedinte ako. Ako ang tunay na presidente". Ang
nangyayari talaga sa ating bayan kung tutuusin, we have learned to
have a history of not following the process. Aguinaldo and Bonifacio,
you cannot determine kung sino ang hero. The Collaborators, we have
never really judged the collaborators during World War II. We never
even have given justice to Wenceslao Vinzons and Jose Abad Santos for
their supreme sacrifice under the Japanese. And we cannot do justice
to Aquino and Marcos or the coup plotters of '87 and '89, to Estrada
and now another one here.

So when is it going to end? It ends where it begins. It begins,
therefore, with the Constitution. A piece of paper that is supposed to
be the glue that puts us all together. The rules on which we govern
ourselves. If we violate that, if we do not let the process come into
play then nobody will respect this country. We will not respect
ourselves. We cannot do that. We cannot say fraud yan.
hinuli. Worse na-commute pa ni Marcos and sentence nila. So sa
susunod, nang pinatay ang pamangkin ko ng houseboy ng kapatid kon
noong Mayor na ako "Wag na nating sundin ang batas, hindi naman maayos
ang prosesong iyan eh. Barilin na lang natin anyway pinatay naman niya
talaga yung pamangkin ko na 9-year old. Patayin na lang natin". Ganoon

walang pumapayag maatalo sapagkat dinaya palagi kaya kailangan tapusin
natin at magpakulong tayo ng mga mandaraya at tiyak matatapos ang
proseso.

ON VICE-PRESIDENT DE CASTRO:

We cannot strengthen our country if we do not put the Constitution to
a test. Habang hindi natin nagagawa iyon ay walang mangyayari sa ating
bayan. Hindi makakatulog si Vice President Noli. I will support Noli
kung magresign si Gloria. Eventually kung ma-impeach si Gloria I will
support Noli. Segurado at walang problema yan. Pero may duda ang
suporta kapag ganoon ang mangyayari na isasantabi ang proseso sapagkat
yung ginawa kay Gloria ay gagawin din sa kanya.

How can Noli sleep at night knowing that certain sectors of the church
and certain sectors of the military go together and remove him by
intimidating him or by starting something like from the opposition,
like in the previous cases and then gathering up the forces. No trial.
Resign ka. Baba ka.

Q. Sir, si Senate President Franklin Drilon nakapag-usap ba kayo?

GORDON: Tinawagan ko siya. We call each other. We are friends. We
can be civilized.

Q. Are you against sa move ng Liberal Party which he heads calling for
resignation?

GORDON: Ang ayaw ko lang bakit tayo parang balingbing. Hindi ba two
weeks ago sabi nila they are supporting the President. It was very
well published and on television. Yung mga leaders natin, dati ang
position proseso, ngayon all of the sudden baligtad. Bakit na-prove na
bang guilty?

Q. Sir kaya pa bang i-retain ni PGMA ang sitwasyon ito?

GORDON: Hindi si GMA ang problema. Ang sinasabi kong problema natin
dito, please understand me very clearly, I am railing not against
personalities, not really against Senate President Drilon. I am
railing against the system that we have put ourselves in. Against the
culture of political opportunism. Against putting our fate on the
winds of political partisan hysteria.

Q. Sir, what is your advise to the President?

GORDON: Do what her conscience tells her to do. If she wants to
resign, resign. If she doesn't want to resign and she says she is not
guilty, the system allows her to face up to the impeachment
proceedings.

END.

www.badcorp.org

I came across this very interesting website today. It even has a "Shitlist" (I kid you not!) featuring the top 9 corporations with less than savoury goings-on in their corporate backyard, i.e. unsafe workplace, violating environmental standards, defrauding consumers, etc.

We actually use and see these brands everyday through their big bad ads (Philip Morris, Exxon *not applicable in the Phils, I think*, Nike, McDonald's, Monsanto *not so visible in the Phils*, GE, Sara Lee, Gap and Nestle).

The site also points out the strategy bad corporations take to mend their tarnished reps: change their corporate names. For example:
  • Philip Morris is renamed Altria
  • Tricon Global (owner of Taco Bell, KFC and Pizza Hut) is renamed Yum! Brands
  • Andersen - Accenture
  • PricewaterhouseCoopers Consulting - Monday (ha ha ha!)
  • Monsanto Chemicals - Solutia

UAAP Season 68

Oh yeah, the UAAP Season 68 has begun marked by opening ceremonies last weekend. This season shall be hosted by Adamson University. Of course the event was eclipsed by politics (pero sa isip ko lang ha, don't know about you guys).

College basketball brings to mind lots of stuff -- pep rallies, cheering yourself hoarse, the feeling of being beaten by the Taft-based team...

And those limber and perky cheerleaders... :)

Information Overload

Groggy. .. I just want to sleep off the ill effects of information overload.

CBCP Calls For "Sobriety and Non-Violence"

Hmm, the bishops didn't join the "Gloria resign" bandwagon and instead called Pinoys to opt for peaceful means to resolve our political crisis. However, they did not let PGMA off the hook so easily by letting her know that she should make good her promise to get rid of corruption (is this even possible?).

Cory Calls for Resignation of PGMA

President Cory Aquino calls, "in all humility," for the resignation of PGMA and in favor of constitutional successor (same position as with the ex-cabinet members and Liberal Party).

Impeachment, according to her, shall only divide the country even more. So she is asking PGMA to render the ultimate sacrifice and acknowledges her contributions to the country.

I have a feeling this shall also be the position of the CBCP.

Frenzy

Frenzy doesn't even come close to describing the number of press conferences held today.

Seems like all of them are calling for PGMA to resign (the Liberal Party, the influential Makati Business Club, ex-cabinet secretaries).

Sad thing is, if they do get to boot her (whether through impeachment or she herself resigns), who's going to lead us? Not Erap, not Susan, not Lacson, not any FVR/JDV-backed dummy...

Also, there are reforms to the (rotten) institutions that need to be addressed too. It's not just a question of changing the person holding the reins, kailangang palitan na rin ang karuwahe at kabayo.

Wonder what Cory and the Catholic Bishops' Conference of the Phils. (CBCP) will say...

London Blasts

My heart goes out to the victims (and their families) of the blasts in London today.

The Philippines has had its share of terrorist attacks and the same questions resonate in my mind now as they did then.

"Why?" Hundreds of innocent victims killed and injured all in the name of what?

"What for?" The victims are ordinary working class citizens, going about their daily routines, not leaders..

Mindless violence, pointless killing. For countries who have been victims of terrorist acts, to whom do we retaliate? Do we know the face of terror? (US Pres. Bush seemed to know the answer to this but I'd rather not ask him)

That's why terror is such a frightening thing, it bears no face, no allegiance to any country or cause. It hides every reason imaginable for mindless violence.

I agree with London Mayor Ken Livingstone who put it succinctly,

This was not a terrorist attack against the mighty or the powerful, it is not aimed at presidents or prime ministers, it was aimed at ordinary working-class Londoners. That isn’t an ideology, it isn’t even a perverted faith, it’s mass murder.

It's so hard to take that our political quotient as a people is still on its moronic stage (at least hindi vegetative hehe). Just look at the opposition. Do you call these jokers an option to PGMA? I mean, seriously? The political tide could have turned in their favor but they bungled the opportunity big time. So what are our OTHER options?

It's not that I am pro-PGMA (as in President Gloria M. Arroyo). It's just that I am tired of all the politicizing that these people do. PGMA is the only viable option for us right now. I mean, sino gusto nyo maging presidente, si Susan Roces? Erap Estrada (with Laarni and brats in tow)? Fortunato Abat (and his revolutionary gov't)?

I read Jove Francisco's blog and he's right in saying that

So again, the nagging question: BAKIT DI NA LANG SIYA MAG RESIGN?

Because.

AND because, unlike the opposition, she presented an OPTION. (gutsily i may say!)

And the option she presented is PRESIDENT GLORIA MACAPAGAL ARROYO.
She is the only viable option for us right now. If they want to kick PGMA out of office, they should do so constitutionally. People are sick and tired of People Power already.

Erap said he is ready to assume power again if the people want him to do so... Oh come on! Enough already.

Live 8

I was only able to catch Mariah Carey, Maroon 5, The Police (woo hoo) on . I wasn't able to watch U2 (drat!). I hope ABC 5, a local station in the Philippines who holds the exclusive license to air Live 8, decides to air it again...

I live in a third world country, with a ballooning debt problem and a heart-wrenching poverty situation. Sadly, the message of Live 8 was eclipsed by the Gloriagate scandal.

It takes more than swaying the G8 to eradicate poverty. But Live 8 is a good way to start opening the discussions on an important issue.

Emilie's Don't Yawn Game

I discovered this game by accident. Took 3 seconds before I succumbed. It didn't help that it was raining cats and dogs outside and I was in my jammies. :)

Freaky Factory

I love playing this particular game on called Freaky Factory. I don't know, I just love it... Sure there are more "challenging" games on Neopets but I just like this game he he... Probably because of the grundo thief.

Someone asked me if I can post the things that you should do on neopets, maybe next time. I'm so tamad (lazy) to type tonight...

What Breed of Dog Are You At Work?

Blogface, your breed of dog at work is a Great Dane.

You have an uncanny ability to mask your leadership qualities until the time is ripe. You're not one to blurt out your design until you've had enough time to fully form your grand plans.
This is true though. I do have grand plans to conquer the world bwahahaha!

Oops... dang I blurted it! And the time ain't right yet! Guess I'm not a Great Dane after all he he...
